- Joe Elliott spoke to The New York Times about allowing the “Rock of Ages” musical to use Def Leppard’s music for the very first time.
Joe explains why the musical was never granted rights to Def Leppard’s music before, and why the band made an exception for the “Rock of Ages” movie version starring Tom Cruise.
Given Joe’s negative feelings (to put it mildly) about the 2001 made-for-TV movie Hysteria — The Def Leppard Story (a guilty pleasure at best), being selective about which projects the band wants to be associated with is understandable.
- Vivian Campbell was interviewed by UDiscover Music and discussed a variety of topics, including: the differences between Last In Line and Def Leppard (a question he’s asked often in interviews), what the biggest inspiration is in his life, whether he still gets nervous performing in front of a large audience, and much more.

“I know that there’s a couple of new Def Leppard song ideas going around. I would hope that in 2020 we release something. I don’t think we’d get an album done and released in a year, but maybe we’ll record two or three songs. But that is important also for Def Leppard. Even though records are no longer a source of income…”
He also discussed Last In Line and how their song creation process differs from Def Leppard’s, among other things.
